TEHRAN - Iranian teams won a gold and a bronze medal in the International Canoe Federation (ICF) Dragon Boat World Championships on Saturday.

Iran’s 10-seater women's 500-meter claimed a gold medal with a time of 05:11.97.
The Philippines came second (05:18.44) and India finished in third place with 06:06.21.

Iran’s 10-seater men's 200-meters seized a bronze medal, clocking 00:49.50. Thailand won the gold medal with 00:47.52 and silver medal went to Malaysia with a time of 00:49.09.

The championship officially begins on Oct. 31 and will run until Nov. 3.

A total of 27 countries and close to 2,000 participants from around the world are in action in Puerto Princesa City, the Philippines.
